The "Berkshire, New York Trio," with Ted Rosenthal, Marty Jaffe, and Conor Meehan
A word-play on the theme of Pittsfield’s 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival and New York’s legendary composers’ haven known as Tin Pan Alley, "10 by Tin Pan Alley" explores the NY-Berkshires connection in an unexpected way. The performers all have roots in both NY and the Berkshires. Formed specially for this occasion, the “Berkshires, New York Trio” includes leader and pianist Ted Rosenthal (NY-based, with a residence in Otis), bassist Martin Jaffe (Berkshires native and now based in New York), and drummer Conor Meehan, who has lived full-time in New York and is now a full-time Berkshires resident (Richmond). The repertoire will include ten famed songs that were written in or about New York. There is an abundance of music to choose from, including popular standards, Broadway tunes, jazz classics and new compositions.
The Berkshire Museum theater features a Steinway grand, excellent sightlines, and outstanding acoustics. Limited seating, pandemic protocols will be followed, including masks for those over 2 years of age, and proof of vaccination for those 5 and older..
